The needs of the individual student are at the heart of the college ethos, providing a uniquely rewarding independent educational experience. A Second Chance to Unlock Your Potential! Kasra wanted to be a doctor. At his old school, he was not predicted the grades to get an offer for university. He came to Abbey in September 2004 and enrolled on a one- term course for A-Level Biology. He turned his B into a grade A and got an unconditional offer for Medicine at Imperial and starts in October 2006. “I can’t thank Abbey enough, Michael was wonderful, Linda was brilliant, as friends and as professionals Abbey’s teachers were brilliant. I was nervous after last year opening my results, but the better teaching and Abbey treated us as individuals and not as numbers!” Simone knew that her AS grades did not show her true potential or provide her with the chance to successfully apply for Veterinary Medicine. She came to Abbey and took the advice to repeat her AS year. She completed her A-levels with AAA and is about to commence her degree in Veterinary Medicine. |
The hallmark of Abbey College students is that they are aiming to enter professional occupations in the UK or overseas after graduation from university. Maintaining continuity with its original purpose, Abbey College continues to very successfully prepare students for entry to the medical professions and from 2001-2005 nearly 50% of the 279 Abbey College students going on to university have progressed to medicine, dentistry or pharmacy. Of the other 50% the majority have consisted of aspiring engineers, bankers, accountants, entrepreneurs and lawyers who have progressed to top UK universities such as Imperial College, UCL, LSE, King’s College and Manchester. In 2005 one student was admitted to Harvard in the USA. For more information please visit us at www.abbeylondon.co.uk |
